I am a work-from-home mom which means days are pretty long and busy. A typical day for me starts at 5:45 AM and ends at about 11 PM, which at my age, is pretty late.  All those hours in between are filled with running kids back and forth to school, activities, appointments, work, taking cats to vet visits and more. Did I mention work?

My days are hectic, but since I am a woman I am pretty good at multi-tasking. Today I want to share five essentials for the busy woman, along with some tips for making these busy days less crazy.

5 Essentials for the Busy Woman

Like the typical blogger, my cell phone and laptop are incredibly important. Having a top of the line phone I can do almost anything my job requires from it, but if need be, I always have my laptop in my bag as well.

With as busy as a typical day is for me, I would go absolutely insane if I didn't write everything down and plan accordingly. I not only have a jam-packed planner in my bag at all times, but a running to-do list that never seems to get shorter.

An on-the-go office for many busy women is their vehicle, mine is no exception. In fact, when making the decision to purchase this car I made sure that it would have plenty of charge ports for my phone and laptop. My car even has a port for the actual laptop charger, should I run out of battery.

My car also has plenty of room, seats that recline and move so that I can be comfortable and able to work in this space during the many hours I spend waiting for kids to be off of school or activities.

In my bag I also have all the female essentials that have to be with me at al times:

  • a deodorant - because I constantly rush out without putting any on
  • a tube of lipstick or chapstick - because nobody likes dry lips
  • pain pills - for those unexpected headaches or  killer cramps
  • breath mints - because you want to be able to talk to people without killing them with your breath
  • period essentials - The DivaCup menstrual cup is my new period essential and I always have it tucked into my cosmetics bag

What is The DivaCup?

The DivaCup is a reusable, bell-shaped silicone menstrual cup that is suitable for girls and women of all ages. Offering 12 hours of leak-free protection, The DivaCup is clean, comfortable and convenient, providing a better period care alternative to traditional tampons and pads. See the User Guide for more information.

The DivaCup is available in two sizes, Model 1 and Model 2
  • DivaCup Model 1: Recommended for women under the age of 30 who have never delivered vaginally or by caesarean section.
  • DivaCup Model 2: Recommended for women age 30 and over/or for women who have delivered vaginally or by caesarean section.

The days during our period are uncomfortable, painful and messy. If you're always on-the-go you know that days are even more stressful when you're on your period. And it's not like we can stop working, driving the kids around or shirk all of our responsibilities during that week.

I like to keep my options open when it comes to making my life easier, and I love knowing that with The DivaCup I have 12 hours of leak-free protection. Something else that is super important for me during my period, is comfort. Sitting on a badly placed tampon for hours on end is one of the most uncomfortable things any woman can endure and it happens all the time.

I purchased The DivaCup Model 2 at Albertsonsyou can find it in your area using the store locator.

The DivaCup is very much like most of us women, it's ready to take on long hours and do a good job while at it. I know that it can look scary, but it's a great option for someone looking to simplify their periods. What would less bathroom trips, no leaks (even while sleeping!) and the value of not buying expensive period products month after month mean to you? At least check it out at your local store and find out if it's an option that will work for you.
