The holiday season is all about enjoying quality time with family and friends and really getting into the holiday spirit. Whether you're doing some holiday entertaining or just having the family over for dinner, the holidays are a great time to step up your game and make everything extra special.
An easy way to add some extra sparkle to any holiday event is by adding smartwater sparkling. smartwater sparkling is not your average sparkling water: it is vapor distilled with electrolytes for taste. It is innovative and modern and a great way to elevate your dining experience.
Because of its clear and crips taste, smartwater sparkling is great to pair with sweet and spicy dishes, like my favorite Sweet & Spicy Brussels Sprouts. Today I am going to share how to prepare this really yummy side dish.
Sweet & Spicy Brussel Sprouts
2 pounds brussels sprouts trimmed and cut in half
4 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Sriracha sauce
1/2 tea spoon salt
1 lime
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Wash, trim and cut in half brussels sprouts
Grease baking sheet with olive oil
Place halved brussels sprouts sprouts on baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil and salt
Roast for about 15 minutes
Stir brussels sprouts and roast for about 15 more minutes until they are slightly charred
While sprouts are in the oven mix Sriracha sauce, honey and the juice of one lime into a small bowl
Remove sprouts from oven, place into a serving dish and coat evenly with Sriracha and honey sauce
Serve hot
I warn you, this can get pretty spicy so you might want to cut down on the Sriracha sauce or add more honey to cut that down a bit. But they are so good, and a great way to add a kick of spice to a holiday dinner.
And don't forget the smartwater sparkling! Your guests are definitely going to need it for this spicy side dish. I grabbed mine at Albertsons, where it happened to be on sale.
