If you are anything like me you are looking for an easy way to wow your friends on game day. While many of my friends are really great cooks who love to show off their skills, I am of a simpler mind when it comes to cooking. I love coming up with yummy ideas too, but my ideas take minimal time an effort. I'm really busy and really I am not the best cook, so I always prefer to go simple, which doesn't mean it's not going to be delicious. Today I want to share my latest “simple recipe”, which is so good!
I don't know about you but I LOVE MANGOS! They are my very favorite fruit ever, and they are one of the only reasons I love summer. Mango and watermelon, they are the best part of summer and I usually hate how we have to wait for them to be in season before getting to enjoy them again. This is why I was super stoked to find Del Monted Diced Mangos at Walmart! (Take advantage of the sampling event taking place at select Walmart stores 1/22-1/25, so you can try them yourself!) I've got so many ideas for enjoying these mangos and can't wait to try them out. I am going to be making Mangoneadas, mango smoothies and maybe even mango nieve (ice cream). You don't know how excited I am to know that I can start enjoying mango year round. Whoop, whoop!
Okay so when the big game rolls around, I am going to use these delicious Del Monte Diced Mangos to give my salsa an amazing kick. Imagine a Mangoneada ( a slushy with chunks of mango & hot sauce ), and you have this salsa. You're going to get that sweet flavor of the mango and then the super spicy kick of the salsa, a perfect pair!
This 2-minute mango salsa has you covered for Super Bowl Sunday and check out just how EASY it is to prepare. I mean, you don't even have to go near the stove, it's so easy you can make it with your eyes closed!
2-minute Mango Salsa
1 can of Del Monte Diced Mangos
1 jar of Pace Chunky Salsa (hot)
Just open up the salsa and the canned, diced mangos (drain juice) and mix. Done and done! Plus, you can always spice it up with your own “secret ingredient”. Next time I am going to add big chunks of onion for added flavor and texture. Nothing weird about extra onions, mango and salsa, I am Mexican after all and to us all those things together are simply delicious!
Once the game is done, you don’t need the party to end! Hang out, put in “The Book of Life”, and enjoy a great movie together. The kids will love this movie and it will give them something to look forward to after the game. The “Book of Life” DVD available at Walmart on 1/27. While you're there pick up a can of Del Monte Mangos and go to town making your own super-simple creation that is sure to knock everyone's socks off. Don't forget to try my recipe too, I think you're going to love it!
