Tutorial: School Girl Pigtails - Sammy Makes Six

Tutorial: School Girl Pigtails

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® and Latina Bloggers Connect. All opinions are my own.

Sammy went back-to-school last week and it is taking some getting used to. It's not easy changing up our freedom filled summer routine to suddenly having to be up at 6:30. I don't even know if it's harder for her or me, but we are both having serious trouble adjusting. Every single morning is rush-rush-rush and then after I drop her off I feel so guilty for having rushed her so much. That parental guilt, it's a killer I tell you.

Well one way that I am cutting back on some of the morning stress is to make getting her hair ready easier. If you have a little girl, you know how hard it is to brush their hair. But we have a little routine and as long as we stick to it, we can get her hair done pretty quick in the morning. Sammy takes a bath in the evening using the JOHNSONS® No More Tangles® line of products. These products are THE key to cutting the time we spend on her hair.

STEP 1 Cleanse: Using JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® Shampoo & Conditioner for thin hair, I wash her hair every night. This leaves Leaves hair easier to comb/manage without feeling weighed down.

Step 2 Nourish: JOHNSON’S®NO MORE TANGLES® Leave-In Conditioner controls wild frizz and tangles and also helps to protect her hair from damage and breakage.

Step 3 Brush Out: JOHNSON’S® NOMORE TANGLES® Detangling Spray Works to instantly unlock knots and tangles to improve manageability for easy trouble-free combing. This is what we use the most of, going through a bottle per month or more. Thin hair is very susceptible to tangles and this is our lifesaver.
Following step three she lets her hair air dry and in the morning it's tangle free and ready to be styled for the day. Today we created a simple yet cute tutorial that is perfect for her uniform only school style. This is just a regular pigtail style, I remember wearing this same style when I was little, and I actually remember hating all the pulling that went into it. That is why I don't pull my little girl's hair.

step 1: Brush hair free of tangles
step 2: part hair carefully in the middle
step 3: make pigtails and tie with a strong hair tie
step 4: braid each side and tie with a colored ribbon
step 5: add matching ribbons to the top of each pigtail

The school girl pigtail look is now complete and it goes perfectly well with her uniform.

This is just one of the hairstyles that Sammy wears during the week. Other days she will wear her hair down with a headband or up in a pony tail, but every day her hair is conditioned and protected with the OHNSONS® No More Tangles® line.
