Sammy is now seven years old and about to graduate 1st grade. I can't believe how quickly time flies! This 1st year of full time schooling was a pretty big adjustment for us because not only is she gone for 7 hours, she still has at least 2 hours of homework to do in the evenings. That is 9 hours a day of learning for one tiny, little girl. At the end of the day when she is done with all of that, I do my best to make her little bit of free time as fun and relaxing as possible with a playdate. Sammy, lucky for me, is an artist and has always been very creative. There is nothing that she enjoys more than coloring and drawing, and making little works of art that she gifts her sisters. Our house in covered in drawings by Sammy!
It was time to get some new art supplies so we headed to Walmart to pick up some Crayola items and some Juicy Juice. Juicy Juice is a favorite of all my girls, when my older ones where little they used to drink it all the time while watching PBS cartoons. Who remembers that? Now Sammy is the Juicy Juice drinker, and because Juicy Juice is 100% juice she can have as much as she wants.
From now until September you can find specially marked packages of Juicy Juice products delivering up to $3 off coupons savings on toddler and kid appropriate Crayola products such as Color Wonder and My First Crayola. Additionally, there will be $1 off Juicy Juice Instant Redeemable Coupons applied to specially marked packages of Crayola Color Wonder and My First Crayola products. These are the perfect pairing of a healthy and delicious drink for the kids as well as some awesome creative learning materials for the kids.
Crayola Sidewalk Chalk is something Sam loves to play with. The first time I opened it for her she went outside and "tagged" all the outdoor walls. It was like a New York scene from an 80's movie. Anyone remember Beat Street? Well that was just not going to work so I found a perfect and very affordable indoor option for her to draw to her hearts content. In the school section in Walmart you can find these black poster boards which are used in school presentations. These have the perfect surface for drawing and erasing chalk. It was only $3.95 and you can use it many, many times and in the evening just fold it away.
Another favorite for playtime is the Crayola Color Wonder set. This is neat! This is totally mess free coloring at its finest. The marker colors appear only on the special paper, so that means that she can't get it all over her clothing, her desk or the walls! Oh yeah, Julius was drawing on the walls last week, I know all about kids drawing on walls. If your little artist enjoys tagging the house, buy them one of these sets!
Everyday before dinner we pull out the display board, the Juicy Juice and the Crayola, to get down to some art. Sammy will have so much fun playing, drawing and coloring while drinking her Juicy Juice, and she never even realizes that all the while she has been LEARNING some more! All that writing is making her spelling and reading better, all the drawing is growing her creativity and her art skills and all the while she is having a blast. Juicy Juice gives keeps her hydrated (have you tasted how good Juicy Juice is?) and Crayola keeps her imagination going round and round.
This is the best kind of playdate because kids always learn faster when they are having fun. With Juicy Juice and Crayola, it can't get any more fun. You can set up a little playdate area just like I have for Sammy by grabbing the board, Juicy Juice and Crayola items at Walmart. Don't forget to look for the specially marked packages of Crayola and Juicy Juice so you can save some money.
I hope you have a wonderful playdate just like ours!
