As part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network, I have been compensated by Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital and Together Counts for my participation in this campaign.
My 4 oldest girls where Girl Scouts when they where young and we lived in Hawaii. I remember those years with fondness because in just those 3 years that they participated, they did so much!! The plan had been for them to stay in for as long as possible but once we moved back to the mainland things got too hectic between moving and a new job, that the girls did not join back. But now with Sammy, we have a second chance to be a part of this amazing organizations that empowers girls all over the nation. For me the most amazing part of having my child in Girl Scouts is how they promote a healthier lifestyle. When my older girls where part of it, there wasn't as much technology as there is now. But these days it's so hard to get kids off technology and out into the real world, and this is where Girl Scouts excels.

WOW! Wonders of Water with Healthy Habits - girls discover the many forms and paths that water takes and how to protect it. They also learn how to engage in teamwork, speak effectively to convey a message, and inspire others
Get Moving! with Healthy Habits - girls learn how to use their energy to protect Earth’s energy and build important leadership skills.
