Summer is two months away but where we live it's already pretty warm. With the heat already here, we have to make many changes not just in our home and lifestyle, but also in our beauty routines. For me, being the momma of the bunch and being the one that is always running around, there isn't much time to get ready. Summer for me means going back to basics in the beauty routine. No more heavy full-coverage foundations or taking hours trying to tame my wild, long hair. I have very unruly, wavy hair that can take me over 30 minutes of straightening and even more if I should decide to curl it in any way. No...there is no time for that during the summer when everyone had so much to do, especially when it's just going to melt off in the heat.

The first thing that I did in order to get ready for the summer heat is that I have cut about 5 inches off my hair. Right now shoulder length hair is really in style and I love the idea of not having so much heaviness weighing me down, and how much faster it's going to be to get ready each day. Just by cutting my hair I have already shortened the time and money it will take to: wash, dry and style my hair.

Something else that I am doing for my hair this summer is changing up my hair routine by using the new line from Garnier. Have you seen the new Garnier Whole Blends range? I was intrigued by this line the moment I saw it at Walmart because of the really colorful and beautiful packaging and how there are varied treatments depending on what your hair needs. Because of how dry my hair tends to get in the heat, I chose the Garnier Whole Blends line in Coconut Water and Vanilla Milks Extracts which is going to keep it hydrated and healthy.

The Garnier Whole Blends line in Coconut Water and Vanilla Milks Extracts has a silky formula of coconut water and vanilla milk that leave my hair feeling good and smelling amazing!

My summer hair routine:

  • Shampoo with: Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Water and Vanilla Milks Extracts Shampoo
  • Condition: Coconut Water and Vanilla Milks Extracts Conditioner or the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milks Extracts Hydrating Mask to really deep condition and hydrate.
  • Dry hair: On a regular day I would much rather air-dry my hair but if I have somewhere to be quickly, I will brush hair and give it a quick blowdry.
  • Style: Thanks to the five inches off of hair and the layered style, now all I have to do is use the flatiron to give my layers a slight bend, giving the hair a chunkier style.

Find the entire Garnier Whole Blends line at Walmart.

Summer will be here soon, why not make life simpler by changing up your hair routine so you can save time and energy. I'm so glad I cut my hair and that I have the tools I need to get my hair done in less than half the time I normally do. What changes will you make to your beauty routine this summer?
