One of the most important responsibilities of being a parent is to make sure your kids are eating right. It's tough to always have the perfect balance, my family just like yours leads an incredibly busy life, especially during the week. Getting good meals into those tummy's is not always the easiest feat but sometimes it can be much simpler than we thought. That's why an item that's always in my fridge is el famoso galon de leche (the famous gallon of milk).  Ever since I was little, it was ingrained into me that the fridge always had to have a gallon of milk in it, even if there was little else. That has stuck with me and I've followed this rule into my being a parent. No matter what may be or how busy we are, we always make a stop at the market to make sure we have that one gallon of milk that is such a large part of many of our meals.

For every 8oz glass of milk, I give my kids those 9 essential essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein that their bodies need. Which is why we pair milk with at least two meals per day, breakfast and dinner. It’s important that kids get protein at every meal, especially breakfast, to help maximize how their bodies use it. In fact, protein at breakfast can help keep kids feel full and satisfied, so they won’t feel hungry by mid-morning. It can be either a part of a recipe or it can be paired with something else, but that glass of leche is always a must.

Today I am going to share with you a protein-packed breakfast that is super yummy, nutritious and fast enough for the weekday rush. Did I mention how good it is? This is one of my favorite breakfast and I know you're going to love it!

The Milk Life Somos Fuertes campaign recently launched U.S. Olympic Medalist, Cuban-American Gymnast, Danell Leyva as their new strength ambassador with the goal of educating others on the importance of powering your day with a nutrient-rich breakfast that includes between 25-30g of protein.

See how important milk is to Danell Leyva's overall health and training.

Keeping my family fuerte (strong) is important. I ensure they they increase their protein intake before noon; by adding a glass of milk to their breakfast or mid-morning snack. What makes your family strong and healthy?
