August Ulta Haul

I don't have an Ulta in my area which means I have to order online most of the time, but having to order at least $50 worth in order to get free shipping isn't always fun. If I have a fair of amount of products to order or they are all high end, then that's fine, but sometimes I just want to take advantage of a coupon or get a few things. So last week Ulta was having a $25 free shipping promotion and so of course I had to take advantage. I got the new foundation I had been dying to try, and a few other items. Meeting that $25 minimum was not hard at all. Ulta should run this promotion at least once a month for those of us who don't live near a store, if they did I guarantee I would order each and every month.  So check out my goodies!

As always, I tried to incorporate some saving into my order, always do. This time Maybelline was buy one get one 50% off, and even though Ulta prices are a bit hiked up, you can still score some savings.

I had been waiting to get to the store to buy the Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation after spending days and days watching YouTube reviews of it. I don't usually jump on trends but I love a good foundation and had been thinking of trying the Bare Minerals Skin Serum Foundation which is $29, so when I heard this could be a good dupe I really wanted to try it. It's supposed to be a light to medium coverage every day foundation that feels super light on the skin. I don't want to wear a heavy foundation on the daily, especially in this heat, so I was dying to try it. I do have a review of it coming up because I did try it out on Saturday and it's as amazing as everyone says.

This foundation was 9.99 and using the $3.50 off a $10 purchase coupon that Ulta always has, I paid $7.50 for it. You only get 0.67 fl oz of product in this bottle versus the regular 1 oz of most foundations, so I wanted to save as much as I could and I think that's a great price for something hot off the press.

Maybelline Color Elixir in Vision in Violet was my second Maybelline item and I paid $4.50 after half off. A super decent price for this lip gloss. This is the third one I get and the last one probably, ever since these came out I always knew I wanted three of them and now I have them and can move on to another collection. This is really pigmented and from the three it is my favorite, but I will be reviewing and swatching all three soon.

Now we move on to the Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks. I had been waiting for Ulta to finally have these and in this order I picked three and really should have thrown Coral Calling in there as well because I really wanted it. For now though I picked up Adorable Matt, Dare To Wear and Wear Berries. I have one of these lipsticks that I won from Essence on Twitter and it is so amazing that I could not wait to get more.

Are these not just gorgeous. BTW, my review of Wear Berries is up and you can find it at this link.

Everytime I log into Ulta I run a search to see if any new Essence polishes have been added, and most the time it's a big NO. But this time I found two, one that's I have always passed one and a new The Matt polish I had never seen before. This is probably part of any entire line but Ulta just had the one. Seriously, I know Essence Coulour & Go Polishes are super popular, I don't know why they can't give us a larger color range.

Essence Colour & Go The Matt Polish in Candy Crush. It's a very pink color that seems pretty plain but I can't wait to try this new formula out.

Essence Colour & Go in Let's Get Lost, I have seen this a ton of times and never got it because I don't really like the color, but why not give it a try? I am going to be working on a ton more swatch posts so I want the variety to be good, so for the sake of that I went ahead and grabbed it. I think it's actually going to be a fun color to try out.

I had two other things in my oder, a bag of Ulta brand cotton balls and cotton swabs which made my order right about $28. Not bad at all for getting so many awesome goodies and I am really happy with the low price I paid on the Maybelline foundation and lip gloss. So far I am enjoying what I have already tried out and def look for reviews of each item soon. I love me some Ulta.

Ulta's Little Black Dress Swatches

It's been a while since I have put a polish post up. Today I am talking about a really cool polish that I got during the holidays at Ulta. It is one of two bottles that I found in the 5 items for $5 section in the front of the store. I would have loved to get more shades but the two I grabbed where the only two available.

We are smack dad right in the middle of summer but after so many bright polishes, the other day I decided I wanted something darker and this is when I pulled out Little Black Dress. I really like the size of this 0.4 fl oz bottle, I am really starting to like smaller sizes more because it feels like I might actually finish them before they go bad. This is a really elegant looking little bottle, I love the squared design, which I don't think is the same one Ulta polishes have now. I love how you can see the silver glitters peeking through the polish.

Little Black Dress is very opaque and only needs two coats to get the perfect color. Because of the silver glitters, it's almost like 2 different polishes depending on how the light hits it. In lower light it just looks like a black polish but when the light or sun hits it, then it looks edgy and fun, sometimes the glitter even looks more blue than gray. It's like a little galaxy on your nails.

Little Black Dress wore for 5 days with no chips on me, it just wore a bit on the tips as all my polishes do. I really loved how my nails looked the whole time, it's like wearing a dressed up black. I really like this shade and I hope to try more Ulta polishes based on how good this formula was. Plus as soon as fall arrives, I will be pulling out Little Black Dress more often!
